WOW!! A lot to answer 🙂 I like emails like this.
Got your letter, and you will never bore me with Mom letters. I love every letter that I get and they mean the world to me here!!! Especially since its finally starting to hit me that two years is a very long time…haha
I LOVED CONFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY ELDER HOLLAND’S TALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We watched it at the Lewisville Stake Center because that one was closer than the building we go to for church (the one in Dallas, its the Carrolton Stake Center). We saw everyone in our zone at least once during conference and we basically watched it with them..just spread around the chapel because the missionaries are the only ones who don’t watch conference in their homes. 🙂 haha and we didn’t get fed. We haven’t gotten fed really in a while. Just the every monday thing with the D family. And we watched it in English. When we went to our building for the Priesthood session we thought we would be watching it in Spanish but they just had Spanish headsets to translate.
My toe is doing completely fine. My jaw is feeling better. Not completely better but it doesn’t hurt constantly.
Elder P is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! He is just like dad said and predicted though, the exact opposite of Elder L.He’s not like disobedient, just the exact opposite personality. He is from Idaho, been out for 10 months and his Spanish is freaking crazy awesome!! so much better than L, and we get along like perfectly! And…I’m the designated driver now. 😛 I hate being in charge of a car that isn’t mine. And like I just filled up the car with gas at a place I hadn’t been to before and accidentally put in the supreme stuff, 40cents extra, instead of the regular…whoops….sorry Church since they pay for it!
He is super competitive and is like OCD about stuff being clean. The first 3 days he was here all we did in our spare time was clean the apartment, which I was ok with because now its not disgusting because Elder L refused to clean stuff and so I just tackled small messes every so often. Yea so he also is obsessed with Spanish, and sports, and yea he’s a little bit crazy enthusiastic too, but we get along basically perfectly so it’s fine by me.
So this week… Well we did service on Tuesday for the lady who made the Michael Jackson glove. We did stuff in her backyard and then she took pictures afterwards. She was suppose to send you pictures of us, but if she didn’t then there are some on my camera that I will eventually send home. Wednesday Elder P came and we went off of everything that I had planned…which we had a lot of plans and back up plans just in case. Thankfully now he is kinda more familiar with the area so he can help me out more!! OH!!! And we technically now have 2 baptismal dates for some of our investigators for the 28th of April. If they come to church, which is the hard thing to do for them, than everything will work out and they will be baptized that day. But I’ll tell you more then! Elder P says that I will be the one baptizing so now I have to memorize the baptismal prayer thing in Spanish!!! So hopefully all goes well!!!!! It was really weird, as soon as Elder L left, the work started picking up in the area. Like we were really busy this last week. Just doing stuff which is good.
Conference was awesome like I already said!! But because for us it is 11-1, 3-5, and 7-9, the entire day was basically studies, and eating, and stopping by investigators before conference started. But like nothing got done Saturday, but yesterday was better.
So yea, good week, my companion is soooooooooo much better and optimistic and cool and everything, and things are good over here. 🙂
I love you sooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you to the moon and back and hope you got my letters last week 🙂
Love you so much,
Elder Josh Andersen 🙂
Oh and tell Megan and Pete happy birthday this week for me!!! I’m gonna stay on top of these things. 🙂
I did get the pictures. 🙂 I love the Texas picture!!! And your birthday looked fun. 🙂 I think my birthday here will just be like another day because all we do is work 24/7. I can already tell I’m gonna be tired in December of 2014. 🙂 haha
I love you sooooooo much!!! Oh and last minute thought. This conference was awesome and it made me excited for the next time we can all watch conference together as a family. 🙂 And like I can go with Dad to priesthood. 🙂 And I think we should get dressed up on Sunday and go to the Stake Center to watch it. 🙂 its cool having a bench to yourself and its just a different spirit about it, and you can’t get distracted like in your home. 🙂
I believe that God is our loving Heavenly Father. I believe that Jesus Christ is His Son, and that he came to redeem the world and save us so that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again after this life. I believe that families are extremely important and are the best place to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or the teachings of Jesus Christ to help us in our lives. I believe that through the Gospel our lives can be enhanced and we will see blessings poured out upon us. I believe that to access these blessings we must, 1: Have faith in Jesus Christ, 2: Repent of our sins and our mistakes, 3: Be baptized, or after baptism partake of the Sacrament, 4: Receive the Holy Ghost, which after baptism is also part of the Sacrament, and 5: Enduring to the End, or basically doing all 5 of those steps again, and then putting them on repeat for the rest of our lives. I believe that God has prepared a marvallous plan for all of us, namely the Plan of Salvation, and that through this plan and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can all return to live with our Heavenly Father again. I believe that our Heavenly Father knows us personally and that he wants the best for us. I believe all of this and I want others to believe it and know it as well. I want them to feel the great love from their Savior and Heavenly Father like I have, and that is why I am on a mission. I’m here to share this amazing message with everyone. I leave my family for two years, so that others can be with their family for eternity.
I love you so much!!!!!!!!! 🙂
Elder Josh Andersen 🙂
