25 days til Christmas and Happy Thanksgiving

How is my amazing family?! I love you all soooo much!!! Just FYI πŸ™‚ hahah

So this week was fun and interesting! But I’ll answer your questions first and then go onto that and stuff πŸ™‚ And I was able to see the video of Carter!! It’s kinda weird… Am I the only one who thinks he looks like a mini-Josh when I was that age? Not completely, just a wee bit. πŸ™‚ haha

And yes, it is FREEZING here!!! πŸ™‚ hahaha yesterday we had all these members telling us that we were crazy for still working in it and there were warnings all day that there was going to be freezing rain and stuff, so Sacrament Meeting was all we had….everything else was cancelled….which was inconvinient. And that even made it so A (girl) didn’t come to church cuz she is terrified of ice and driving when there is ice and stuff…..and a lot of people didn’t even come to church because of it.

As for Payphone and All Too Well, I just figured them out? haha πŸ™‚ Just had the songs stuck in my head and tried playing them. Since that’s the only way I can do it since I can’t listen to them. πŸ™‚ haha

So update on our investigators!!!

And remember how I said that we met that awesome family? S and her parents A and B? Well we taught them again and it was super cool!!! S prayed and already got an answer that the Book of Mormon is true!!!! Her parents are just what’s keeping her back…. her dad doesn’t really care

But on the bright side, πŸ™‚ we have lessons lined up this week with A and A and S and her family! Hopefully we can find Z! And then we’re gonna be doing a lot of finding this next week. We didn’t get too many opportunites to find people this week.

We don’t do like any service here in Cleburne. πŸ˜› combination of people not accepting it and then Elder O doesn’t like it really.

Today plans are: Emailing, Shopping, Soccer at the church with some members (everyone is out of school this week for Thanksgiving), then we have a few lessons lined up tonight. That’s it. πŸ™‚ haha hopefully a super chill and relaxed day! I need it! I just feel exhausted lately. Like just tired all the time!! hahaha

I’m sooooooo glad I’m not on a bike!! I feel soooo bad for Buh!!!! Hopefully she can get a bunch of rides from members so they don’t have to be in the cold too much. πŸ™‚

Any crazy experiences? Hmm.. Let me think for a bit. When I was on exchange a girl that the other elders teach in Stephenville told me that I look like Justin Bieber except taller and with better teeth? Does that count? πŸ™‚ haha

Oh no, here is one!!Ok so on Wednesday we had a lesson with A and so we had an exchange with us. The lesson wasn’t the best….her kids were being really crazy and just one thing after another. But after that, we had a person that we were going to go by because Bishop asked us to check up on them. Well, Elder O Β said as we were walking up to the door “we’re just going to set up a return appointment. We don’t have enough time for anything else.”

So we knock on the door, they open up, and say, “Y’all are the last people we expected to see right now. Please come in.” So this family is less active. That’s all we knew as we were walking in. So we go inside and they explain to us that their sister, 2 hours before, was checked into Hospice because she was dying of stage 4 liver cancer….so they were having a hard time. There was beer and cigarettes everywhere. But when we walked in they stopped drinking and put out their cigarettes! We talked to them and it was awesome! Testifying and teaching about the plan of salvation! The father was there, and he’s not a member, and we found out that the kids also we’re members. They’ve been less active for a while. They just kept telling us how it couldn’t have been better timing! So I was glad that we were able to be there and then help them. πŸ™‚

It was really cool because I was able to talk to them about how grandpa passed away and it was a lot faster than we thought it would be. The spirit was just amazing and super strong in that room that night!

We were late to our next lesson but they punched on us anyway and we rescheduled it for the next day. πŸ™‚

So that was a spiritual highlight and something crazy. πŸ™‚

I haven’t been able to do any Christmas shopping… and I don’t think I’ll be able to today either…..

So we don’t get fed every night, but we do get fed every Sunday by the Barrus (pronounced Bear-is) Family and they are probably my favorite family right now. πŸ™‚ They are already planning an awesome little Christmas thing with us so that will be fun! We’re going carolling or something. πŸ™‚

Ok now fast about my week

So it was kinda long, but all good. πŸ™‚

Wednesday we had district meeting and that was in Granbury. Kinda a far drive but it was fun. This district is definitely different from the other ones I’ve had….Like it’s not weird, but it is. πŸ™‚ haha it’s probably just the change in things that’s throwing me off.

I went on exchange to Stephenville and drove there on Thursday and Friday. πŸ™‚ I love my area compared to theirs!!! No offense… but you learn to appreciate stuff that you have when you see different perspectives. And while I was there…. It snowed!!!! Nothing stuck cuz it was all wet already, but still. πŸ™‚ hahaha and the other cool things I’ve already kinda explained… haha πŸ™‚ like with that less active family.

Yesterday we taught a few different members….less actives and active ones. πŸ™‚ haha our day was booked!!! Not too much spanish though…just assignments from Bishop. So one family is super fun to talk to! Why? Because they love Once Upon A Time!!!! But I keep telling them that they can’t ruin anything for me. πŸ™‚ haha

Then we taught this one less active that really just amazed me…but not in a good way. It was sad. He was sealed with his wife in the Salt Lake Temple, is a convert, and has now gone SO far the other way…. he doesn’t even believe that there is a God anymore…. It’s soooooo sad. I feel so bad for that family! Everything that was once a strong part of his testimony he has now destroyed and burried. It was sad asking him all these questions. Picture like being asked the most basic of questions, and then having someone answer then in the most atheist kinda of way. I’ve never met anyone on my mission like him.Β  And I think I met him just so I could ask myself again, “Do you really believe this?” To which I got the answer again, “Yes, of course I do.”

After being out here just on my mission, I’ve realized that nothing is a coincidence. Nothing. If we have plans cancel, usually we go to our backup plans and have awesome lessons with those people! Which shows us that THEY are the ones we should’ve actually planned to see in the first place. It’s amazing what God does and how he works.

Yea so that was my week. πŸ™‚ Nothing too exciting or not exciting.

I love y’all to the moon and back forever and ever and for eternity!!!!! I’m so glad to be a part of this gospel and to know everything that I know!!! It truly is amazing!!!!! πŸ™‚ While I’m doing missionary work over here in Texas, try to be doing it over there in Arizona! You’ll see miracles happen too. πŸ™‚

Love you!!!

Texas has crazy weather

Β How is my amazing family in the extremely hot Arizona climate?! πŸ˜€ From the email it sounds like things are good. πŸ™‚

So yea, first things first. Catching Fire comes out this weekend and you BETTER tell me how amazing it is!!! But if it’s not (which I doubt) you can just tell me how awesome it is anyways. πŸ™‚ And then next year we’ll watch it for Christmas or something. πŸ™‚ haha

That is crazy about Raini! And Emi!! Holy Cow!!! I didn’t even know that she was thinking about a mission! And I’m gonna get home and have no friends…. haha all of them will be out on missions! πŸ™‚ Which is a good thing. Then I can focus on my family for a bit and then friends when they get back. πŸ™‚ haha

And I didn’t get the bracelet Brooke sent…so…?

My week was good! And freezing…but then warm like the last two days. πŸ˜› random Texas weather. Wait 5 minutes and it changes. (that’s what Texans say!) πŸ™‚ haha So Zone Conference was amazing, but I’ll talk about that later. πŸ™‚ haha I’ll just answer your questions like normal then describe the week. πŸ™‚ Our ward is decent size. Probably 150ish? they’re mostly white though. There are about 20ish Marshallese

A and AΒ  are good. A (boy) is working on the oil rigs and he won’t be back until next Tuesday. And A (girl) is doing good too. But she definitely has her hands full with work and her three kids.. So pray that she will be able to endure!

J is doing ok… He was gone all week long… and his baptism was suppose to be this Saturday, the 23rd, but that got moved because he had to leave for work AGAIN for the whole week. He was supposed to be able to go to church yesterday but then his coworkers picked him up early and he couldn’t go. And he can’t get interviewed in time too… He still really wants to get baptized but work is really getting in the way. So pray for a miracle and that he will stop working like 7 hours away! haha

As for the family where we helped clean their house, I think I didn’t explain things well the first time. And they’re still trying to get their grandchildren, yes. And they’re doing good.

For Thanksgiving, we’re supposed to possibly have 2 meals. πŸ™‚ We’re going to have a lunch with the H and their family (it’s kinda like Mom’s side of the family getting together). And then we’re going to have dinner at the Js And Thanksgiving will be good cuz I eat turkey now so HA! πŸ™‚ hehe

Today we’re just cleaning the apartment and resting, maybe go to the church, we don’t know yet. πŸ™‚ haha

And this week the only set plans are district meeting this Wednesday and I’m going on an exchange Tuesday night to Wednesday. I’m staying in my area and O is going to Stephenville.

Things are going well with O. He is kinda like me where he has two younger sisters. His family came over from Mexico when he was like 1 or 2 so he’s grown up here and stuff. And he’s been out almost 13 months. And he gets mail just like me, so we’re about even there. He gets a little bit more than I do but whatevs. πŸ™‚

We got the Christmas stuff and it’s awesome!!! Thank you!!! And thanks for sending it cuz I was actually going to go buy stuff today for Christmas. πŸ™‚ haha so if you’re gonna send me anything else just warn me so I won’t go out and buy it. πŸ™‚

And I have this blue puddy stuff that get the icecyle lights to stay up. haha πŸ™‚ one step ahead of y’all!

We have no idea what will happen with Christmas. It’s over a month away and it’s next transfer. So O probably won’t even be here. He’s been in Cleburne for 6 months. We’re probably going to have a mission conference for Christmas though. πŸ™‚

Ok so my week!!! I already explained stuff about my investigators so I’ll just focus on the week. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ haha

So the week started off interesting… Tuesday. It was freezing. And we tracted….for 5 hours straight. Not the best use of time in my opinion, but we had nothing else to do. But after that experience, and seeing little success, we made sure plans for the rest of the week would be better so we’d have stuff breaking up tracting so we didn’t do it for 5 hours straight again. πŸ™‚ But the night was pretty cool. We got to go to Chile’s for dinner with a member! First time I’ve had it since with y’all!! And no…that doesn’t mean send me a Chile’s gift card… πŸ™‚ haha but if you thought about it, thanks for the thought! πŸ™‚ And then we also taught a cool lesson to a less active member. He is a recent convert and he has an interesting life story. So, we’re teaching him and he is smoking, so we ask him to repent and give us his cigarettes. It worked before, remember? πŸ™‚ well…he said no and that that was the least of his worries. Well, we’re going to work with him and help him understand what God wants him to do. πŸ™‚

Then Wednesday was better! πŸ™‚ Because we planned to not go tracting 5 hours straight, we made sure we knew exactly where we wanted to go. And we found awesome people! And, it was interesting, but I contacted a war veteran outside who only had one leg, and I contacted him talking about the resurrection. πŸ™‚ He liked it. πŸ™‚ hahaha And then we taught A (girl) and that was a good lesson. πŸ™‚ It was a good day. OH! And the family we ate dinner with made me a cake! Cuz they wanted to make me a cake and decided they could make me a cake for my half birthday even though it was a month late. πŸ™‚ haha

Thursday, Zone Conference. AMAZING!!! πŸ˜€

the conference was awesome!!!! We learned SO much and basically how we need to use the members and help the wards out in any way that we can. And then President also had this little metal rectangle thing that said “If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?” And whoever read it, and yes I read it, had to answer it and then promise ourselves that we would do it. πŸ™‚ So we’ll see where that goes after my mission! But just an awesome spirit filled day! I have good notes. I’ll go over them with you when I’m home cuz there is too much to type. πŸ™‚ hahahaha

Then Friday was planning. Boring. πŸ™‚ haha

But Saturday was awesome!!! Even though none of these people came to church, and they promised they would, it was awesome! First we got a referral from a member and so we went to go see her. We taught her and she was super into the idea of how she could find out for herself! And she was gonna come to church with her family! πŸ™‚ Then that night we found this one family who was awesome! We were going back to teach the dad cuz he was a potential person, and then we taught the family. We shared the restoration and then at the end, the daughter, looked at us and asked, “Why?” “Why what?” “Why does this matter?” So we testified to her about all of the blessings that she could receive and stuff and she started to cry and told us that she was sorry for crying but something we said just touched her. The Spirit is amazing!!! And it was such a cool experience!! The Spirit was literally like THICK. It was hard to breath because of how powerful the Spirit was! And they were also going to go to church, but the dad was kinda holding the rest of them back… πŸ˜› But either way, amazing experience!!! They knew it was true and want to find out for themselves. They started to read the book of Mormon before we even left. πŸ˜€

Then Sunday, only A (girl) came to church so that was sad…but translating was a miracle! I said things in Spanish that I’ve never said before!! It was sooooo coool!!!! πŸ˜€ And then last night we went by some investigators, that we were thinking about dropping, because of a prompting. We go over and their son A (he’s about 4) was sick with a horrible fever. They were getting ready to take him to the ER. So we got there, they wanted us to leave, but then I offered to give him a blessing. They said yes, and guess what!!! This morning they texted us saying he is completely better and they asked us when we could come back! πŸ˜€ The Lord is amazing and he truly does work through miracles!!!!! πŸ™‚

So yea, that was my amazing week. πŸ™‚

I love you to the moon and back forever and ever and ever!!! πŸ™‚ Let me know if there is anything specifically that you want me to pray for out here. πŸ™‚ Just pray for my investigators and for the work in my area!! πŸ™‚ I love y’all so much and am so happy I’m here serving the Lord! πŸ™‚

Love Elder Josh Andersen πŸ™‚

P.S. So, just btw, I looked at myself in the mirror yesterday with my suit on, but not my tag, and I didn’t like it! I didn’t look like a missionary! I was normal… πŸ˜› So it made me think about how we need to always make sure we look like what we are. And, since we have been baptized we should be examples of Jesus Christ, so do we look like that all the time? It’s easy for me cuz I have a tag, but just something for y’all to think about. πŸ™‚ImageImageImageImageImageImage

10 Months!!!

So things here in Cleburne are SO different than the other areas I’ve been in. πŸ™‚ But I really really love this place already!!! And I love the members (most of them, ya know, every ward has those few that just get under everyone’s skin). But everyone here is so cool and so Texan! haha and thankfully the white people don’tΒ  mind going on exchanges with us even to Spanish speaking people (cuz we have those people who speak both English and Spanish so we speak both while teaching which is funny πŸ™‚ ) and then we just translate for them! πŸ™‚

So I did get your package and thank you soooooo much for the protein and the blanket! The blanket is AMAZING!!!!!! It’s definitely the Bomb! And at night it definitely gets cold but all is well because we control the temp and don’t worry about a nasty power bill every month so we just do whatever we want. πŸ™‚ hehe

During the days it is like the perfect weather here!!! It’s amazing! Like I’m spoiled because I get to walk around during the day during the nice weather and then when its cold I get to be in my car driving around. πŸ™‚ So yes a car is nice too!!

PS. Our apartment complex holds packages for us so don’t worry about me having to go to the post office to pick anything up.

And Texas drivers aren’t too bad. There are definitely hicks here though… haha πŸ™‚

Β And as for the sleep thing, its better. I just had a hard time going to sleep in a new place and then staying asleep. πŸ™‚ But now everything is good! And we also come home like every day like exhausted and so we fall asleep easily. πŸ™‚

Ok so here is how my week went down!

So monday was just a nice calm pday. πŸ™‚ We went to the church and just chilled, I played piano, just normal calm stuff! Then we went out and taught a couple lessons and I got to know more people in the ward. πŸ™‚ It’s funny how even though everyone goes to church on Sunday, or mostly everyone, you still don’t meet people in the ward because some people just aren’t friendly. So, get to know the missionaries in the ward no matter what! And introduce them to other members so that the ward can get into the missionary mindset!!!

When a member introduces someone to the missionaries it is SO much more successful than if we have to find someone on our own.

Β So Tuesday it was a wee bit crazy!! Well, our whole week has been crazy! We had a bunch of appointments and pretty much EVERYTHING had to work out in a certain way or else the plans would all like fall through. Well, we prayed and tried to make sure everything worked out! And well, it worked out for the most part. πŸ™‚ We can honestly say that the people that we saw were the people we were supposed to see and everything happened for a reason.

Wednesday we had zone training and that was cool! We have a gigantic zone…3 districts!!! And it makes sense cuz we are the biggest zone, land area wise, in the mission. We learned a ton there and it was cool to meet everyone. πŸ™‚ It was in Weatherford which is like an hour drive so that took up a bunch of time that day, but it was ok..ish. πŸ™‚ haha after we went to Rosa’s Cafe, Tortilla factory, and that place is good ol fashion Tex-Mex!! haha

Then we got back and did service for a sister in the ward who was doing a 3 day yard sale starting Thursday. She had sooooo much stuff!!!!! CRAZY!!! But she made over $2000 so…… yea. πŸ™‚ haha she’s feeding us on Thanksgiving so that will be fun! Then we took her son out with us on exchange and seriously….every one of our plans punched….like even our dinner with these less actives who invited an investigator to go over so that we could eat past 6pm, those plans punched….so needless to say, I was hungry that night but I got to eat after 9 so it was ok in the end. Just not in the moment. And seriously, that’s how it is with like everything in life that sucks! Anyway.

Thursday we had planning and it was kinda a random day. Plans went crazy!! Everything we planned got moved around and switched and so we were just trying to do everything we could to see the people we needed to go teach!

Friday, this was a fun day. πŸ™‚ We taught a bunch of people tracting and had cool stories. πŸ™‚ We even made this one mom who is having problems with CPS smile and have a better outlook on life and she wants to find happiness in our church! So we handed her over to the English Elders to teach. πŸ™‚ But yea, cool stories. πŸ™‚ Then we did some service for a less active member who just started coming back to church.

We had to help clean her yard and house because CPS took her husband’s daughter’s children away from her, and are giving them to this family. So she has to pass inspections and what not. And Oh My Gosh…. I have never felt the spirit work within me like it did that day. I was sad. I felt love for these people. They have been living in a mess. I don’t know HOW living conditions get to be like this… I wasn’t disgusted, I just felt pity and love. So we tackled as much of it as we could, but couldn’t do it all so now we’re going back this Friday to help again!

Then that night we had an exchange to see this one woman in the ward that we are assigned to go teach and help out, but she wasn’t there…so we saw a few other people we felt impressed to go see. And we had AMAZING lessons!!! We felt so prepared and it was just amazing! We moved a baptismal date up to be sooner, we answered this one mans question of why he needs to be baptized because the thief on the cross with Jesus was told that he’d be with him that day in Paradise, so pretty much destroyed Baptist doctrine, and it was just a super cool night!

Then Saturday!!! Holy busy!!!! So we taught 10 lessons, had an appointment like every hour, and it was just awesome!!!

And then yesterday we had our investigators go to church and get interviews for baptism by the 1st counselor in the mission presidency and everything went super well!!!

Β And now I’m about to get kicked off of the computer….so…

Β So the library like had a problem with their computers and kicked everyone off of them after only an hour, we’re suppose to get an hour and a half. So now I’m back after shopping and stuff!!!

So as for my investigators they are doing pretty good. πŸ™‚

We’ve been finding a bunch of new people and they are doing ok. Nothing really happens until they go to church though…. So like I wanna tell you about a few people but they haven’t come to church like they promised so maybe you can hear about them next week!! πŸ™‚

So A and A are doing good. πŸ™‚ They were the ones who had the baptismal interview. They are growing in the gospel so fast! Everyone already talks to them as if they are members. πŸ™‚ which is awesome!!! the only problem that might happen is that their baptism is on the 30th, which is the weekend after Thanksgiving, so there might not be a lot of people there… So keep them in your prayers!

Then J, he is the one whose date we moved up 2 weeks. πŸ™‚ He is ready to be baptized but just needs to learn a little bit more. πŸ™‚ And he’s also out of town all this week…so pray for him that he doesn’t change his mind!!!

Then we have the A Family, and they are the ones whose minds were blown when we proved to them that baptism is important and that Jesus was in the Spirit world right after he died. And how that’s where Jesus meant when he said “today ye shall be with me in Paradise.”

And it amazes me how Satan really just had his way with the bible…. It’s sad. But we know restored truths and it is amazing!!! The gospel is so awesome!!!!

I love y’all sooooooo much!!!!! You have no idea. πŸ™‚ I always pray for you and think about you, at night, so don’t worry, I’m not getting distracted. πŸ™‚ hehe

I’ll try to be more detailed next week!!! This week we have zone conference in Fort Worth on Thursday, so planning will be moved to Friday. So pray for me while I am the one driving there from here. πŸ™‚ haha Other than that just pray that we will be able to help our investigators keep committments and that we will find those that are ready for this message and willing to accept it and change their lives for the better!

I love you sooooo much!!!! πŸ™‚

So Cleburne is Awesome!!!!

So Cleburne is awesome!!!! So different though because its like a country small town. Only like 30,000 people vs Denton over 100,000 consisting of mainly students.

My apartment is pretty nice. Not like my Denton apartment or Lewisville apartment but nice. And it has a balcony so I can do studies outside again!!!

We have a bage?Β  not sure how to spell that color… 2010 Ford Fusion and I am the driver because Elder Olvera can’t drive

The Ward is a English ward, and we’re the Spanish group to it. And its also a Marshallese ward. Yea, kinda weird. But yea we’re trying to help the Spanish work out here so that it can eventually become a Branch!!

We have a few awesome investigators, and then other AMAZING investigators!!! Like we have a few bap dates coming up and they are like SOLID!!! They told me their conversion story and it’s pretty cool, like they were definitely prepared by God!!!

And the city of Cleburne ain’t too big…it’s like a southern town. Like I’m not joking, this is Texas!!!!!

Elder O has been out for a year, so only a few months more than me. And it’s his first time being senior comp so its cool cuz I can relate to him and what’s going on. The only Β is that he speaks fluent spanish already. πŸ™‚ haha and funny note, I already knew that Hispanics LOVE to talk, but now I know how much Hispanics LOVE talking to Hispanics. πŸ™‚ So that’s been a fun one to watch. πŸ™‚

Oh and so funny thing. Our ward has English Missionaries too (well, English and Mashallese, they’re a zebra companionship), and their apartment is right behind ours. And they have the dryer, and we have the washer. So we share. πŸ™‚ Haha it’s interesting!

We email at the library here in Cleburne and its funny cuz here they know the missionaries just like they do in Denton. When we don’t come, or when we’re late, they wonder what’s up. πŸ™‚ haha

About Ipads, we’re going to get them sometime next year in 2014. That’s all that President knows. And when we get them we will have an hour of Facebook time as well. But right now we just have an hour a week of Mormon.org when we can get familiar with the new stuff on there.

Having a car is AWESOME!!! πŸ˜€ I missed having a car. I didn’t miss not driving though. πŸ™‚ haha cuz it’s a lot of pressure driving the Lord’s car. And our area is pretty big. πŸ™‚ haha I think it’s like 40 miles by 20 miles? That’s a guestimate… πŸ™‚ haha

And this is not like Denton, so we don’t get fed too much. Like maybe once a week. And they are white people so I have to get normal to random food. With Hispanics you can just always expect to have rice, beans, and tortillas. And then something else random. πŸ™‚ haha

Having Elder O being fluent is pretty cool. He told me my Spanish is really good for how long I’ve been out.

Just remembered something!!! So because we have a spanish group in the ward, we Β have to translate sacrament meeting and priesthood… TRANSLATING IS HARD!!!! πŸ™‚ haha

Walmart is like 2 minutes away from our apartment so that’s nice. And yea, we go to Walmart for all the shopping. πŸ™‚ haha

And I don’t know anything about my district or zone yet (besides the other Elders in our ward, Elders T (from the marshal islands, but also from Hawaii so he speaks good english) and Y. Wednesday we have zone training so I’ll meet everyone.

Today plans are clean the apartment and try to make it feel like home again. That’s the only hard part about transfers is having to get comfortable again. πŸ™‚ We just do stuff with the other elders too because the closest missionaries are over 30 miles away so…. πŸ™‚ haha this ain’t Denton or Lewisville anymore!

So this last week! This is what went down as fast as I can type it. πŸ™‚

So Noche de Hogar on Monday was awesome!!!! C and his brother and dad came and we had a blast!!! Afterwards, there was a “Zombie Run” for the YSA ward and we invited C to go so he could meet the YSA that spoke spanish, and he went!!!! So guess what?! We could go!!! It was super fun and I love being able to do stuff with our investigators to help get them fellowshipped and get to know the church better with members instead of us. πŸ™‚

Then Tuesday we did packing and taught a few lessons, said goodbyes to people during lunch and dinner, and then had Spanish class and got to say goodbye to the Porters and Tryons.

Then Transfers! It was weird….like always. And then I found out everything that I’ve told you already. πŸ™‚ haha

So for Halloween we had to be in by 6pm…and then we had to do our weekly planning then, even though we had our ward party during that same time, with investigators there. But oh well, President’s orders. πŸ™‚ He knows more than we do!!

Then Friday we just had a full day of lessons. And same with Saturday. Except we also did service for a member in our ward with the other elders. And then Church yesterday. πŸ™‚

Now I’m gonna give a run down on a few awesome experiences we had!!!

So we have been tracting a ton…like a ton!!! And we ran into this one guy and his dad. So we taught them, answered some questions that we had, and then we got a return appointment for the next day. Well, we went back the next day to teach the son, and we are teaching him, he tells us (meanwhile the spirit is like so strong it was like the air was thick! no joke) that he feels like the message is true and he wants to find our for sure so he asked us for a book of mormon! AWESOME!!! It gets better. We then ask him if there was anything in his life that God wanted him to change. And then he told us that he needed to start praying, reading the scriptures, going to church, stop drinking and smoking, etc. So then WE asked him to give us all of his alcohol and cigarettes…….. And he did!!!!! he didn’t have any alcohol, but he gave us his new pack of cigarettes!! And he told us that he wanted to quit and that he needed help. So we told him that Christ would help him if he did a few different things. πŸ™‚ Only sad part is! he didn’t come to church…. and he punched on our next apointment.

Next cool story!! So I met the investigators that are going to be baptized! They are solid!!! And we had this awesome lesson with them in a members home. πŸ™‚ So she got her answer that this church is true because she has a baby that was sick and asked God to heal him and she promised God that she’d go to church, and her baby was healed! But she didn’t go to church…. so the baby started to get sick again. Well she prayed again and then the missionaries, within minutes, knocked on her door. And she started to come to church and now her baby is healthy again. πŸ™‚ Then her husband he works in the oil fields and so he’s here 2 weeks, gone 2 weeks. Well while he was gone he was reading the bible about Noah’s ark and then he asked God if the book of mormon was true, and a dove flew right past him. So… he took that as his sign from God. πŸ™‚ Which I don’t doubt was a sign from God!!! So now they are getting baptized on the 30th of November. πŸ™‚

And then we also have another guy getting baptized next month, the 7th of December, and he is awesome too! He reads the book of mormon everyday and lets us come over whenever we want in the evenings! He feels like he might not be prepared, but he’s getting there and he knows it. :

And it is getting cold here!! haha

And I probably will be here for Christmas. O has been here for 4 and a half months, so he’s most likely going. Rarely someone stays in an area longer than 6 months. And its also weird for someone to be transferred to an area for only one transfer.

I love you to the moon and back forever and ever and always!!!
